Reordering at St Eligius

It is an exciting time for St Eligius as we begin the reordering of the back of the church and the kitchen area over the next 6 months. We are able to do this because of a very generous grant by the Diocese of Oxford for development in New Communities as well as some very generous donations from members of the parish.

The sound and vision system has been installed and includes a web cam which will enable us to stream live services when necessary.

The back area of the church has been opened up and the pews have been moved to enable a large space which we can use for refreshments after services and events, as well as a 'Place to be' which we are going to be using during the week to welcome in the community.

It is hoped that the 'Place to be' will be a space where we can run courses which help people feel relaxed and restored, especially after the last difficult year.  We are hoping to also provide sessions on mental wellbeing and spiritual refreshment.

There will be plenty of power points for those who want to use the space to work from and of course wonderful coffee!

The final area which will be adapted will be the kitchen area.  At present we have no date for when this will be, but we are hopeful that it will happen in the next year.
