Let's Keep Worshipping
While many may still not be able to meet together in the church building, we are still able to pray and worship. Below are a number of resources that you may find helpful for adults and children.
As a parish we are going to be live streaming a service each week @ 9.30 & 11. See this link
The Oxford Diocese have produced some wonderful prayer resources for adults and children which may help when we struggle to know how to pray.
You can also find morning and evening prayer which you may like to do by yourself or with your family.
Each week and also on principal holy days the Oxford Diocese will be live streaming a service at 10am which you may want to watch. The Church of England have a lot of resources to help at this time and will be live streaming services too.
Some daily readings
Lectio365 is a very popular daily meditation. It only takes 10 minutes but helps to settle down the anxious mind. You can also download the app from the site and do it on your phone.
Another site which helps with prayer is How to Pray. This is a 21-day prayer plan which will help during our 3 weeks isolation!
Bible in One Year is a wonderful way of reading or listening to scripture. It has a commentary by Nicky Gumble to help reflect on the passages.
There are several great resources and websites for children. As we know at UnitedKidz@play music is a great way of not only keeping the kids active but also praising God at the same time. Some of the youtube sites we have used in the past are: Doug Horley, Hillsong Kids
Nicky and Becky Drake are doing informal services from there front room on a Wednesday and Saturday @ 4. It’s a great way to get everyone doing actions regardless of your age.
There are an array of contemporary and classical worship hymns and songs on youtube which you can download to your phone too. Here are a selection.
You can search for all your favourite hymns and songs and play them to your hearts content on youtube
